I’ve been really busy lately so that’s why I haven’t written anything these past few weeks.
Well, last week was our friend Tonu’s birthday, so in order to celebrate we went to have all you can eat yakiniku (焼肉) at a restaurant in Shimokitazawa (下北沢). It was sort of okay, even when we had to cook our own food (which kinda beats the purpose of going to a restaurant for that matter, but it was interesting). After that we just spent some time around Shimokitazawa.
I took some pictures from that day, but probably won’t be able to post them here any time soon since my online storage service provider has been acting weird these last few days.
Next day, after saying good bye and stuff, Nam and Tonu went back to Thailand, since they have to attend the graduation ceremony of their university, so this week we have been feeling kinda lonely in the classroom. Hopefully, they’ll come back next week.
On Saturday, I went with Thiago, Eliza, Rene and Baska to Musashino Shimin Bunka Kaikan (武蔵野市民文化会館), a theater near Kichijoji Station (吉祥寺駅), to watch Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (蝶々夫人) being performed by the University of Tokyo Opera Theater, since our friend Naoki was participating on it. The play was very good in my opinion, but the guy sitting next to me slept twice while watching it. The story made me want to kill Madama Butterfly’s husband for being such a bastard.
On Monday, after japanese class I went with Baska and Ben to a conversation class with retired japanese volunteers. The one I talked with was a nice person, but he was talking fast so I couldn’t catch up and with a lot of words that I had really never heard of before, and also, the room was kinda loud so I couldn’t hear very well. I ended feeling sort of dizzy when I finally got out of there. It seems I still need much more training.
Hui’s presentation on her master thesis was last Tuesday, and I felt kinda dumb because I couldn’t understand like half of it, which came like some sort of a shock since I need to be able to understand those things.
Things at the gym seem that are starting to improve. I no longer feel really dizzy when I get out from there which is good, but still, there’s a lot to be done yet.
Yesterday I went to swim at the gym. It’s been a while since the last time I did that so it felt kinda weird, but relaxing.
Afterwards, I went to the lab, since we were going to be practicing for the entrance exam. That was horrible, I wasn’t able to solve anything, even when my professor said we were doing the easiest problems. At least at the end I understood everything, but still, is sort of frustrating. Maybe I’m just stupid, who knows, but anyways, there’s no turning back now since I already filled and sent all the application forms to take the entrance exam.
Well, tomorrow or probably Monday, typhoon Man-yi has been predicted to hit Tokyo (東京). It seems it left quite a lot of damage at Okinawa (沖縄) at the south a few days ago. I know it’s weird, but I’m more or less looking forward to it, since in Panama we don’t usually have that sort of thing. Anyways, I guess I’m prepared for it, or so I think.

Hey Ton!! you’re welcome…
But still, I haven’t decided yet that I won’t upload that picture here hehehe
It’s not required for me to make a presentation, but I have to undergo an interview. Good thing it’s in english.
Well, I’m solving every kind of problems, predicate logic, compiler theory, OS scheduling, optimization, processor architecture… etc etc
Thank you very much from my birthday party…..
and also thank you for not introduce that picture to your blog
:):):):):).
Ferno what kind of problems were you solving for the entrance exam?? just curious … because if they were recurrence relations.. the only way to understand their solutions is learn by heart the MASTER METHOD, and its 3 cases.. And by the way.. you are not stupid!!.it is Computer Science, it was meant to be hard!!
practicing conversation with this retired japanese volunteers is also a nice practice but you tell them please to go slowly that you are new in this business, they could pretty understand you I guess. You are doing better day by day and little by little probably when you less imagine you will be surprisingly talking and singing in japanese and then you could teach me, and I really don’t know if I could learn as soon as you are doing in this last three months, so congratulations, feel happy you are making a great work.
FER , you mentioned something about HUI’S master thesis presentation, is this a requisite for the entrance exam? are you working on this thing also?
